Animal Wisdom

This weeks animal wisdom echoes the power of love, so when in doubt, be love. I hope your week has had moments when you become deliciously aware of the potency of the love that flows between you and your animal family. Immersed in these moments of connection can feel like life showing itself in it's simplest, yet most exquisite, building blocks - right here, right now, love.

I got to chat with a horse that has recently had surgery and is still at the vet hospital. When I first connected he felt confused and disoriented - he didn't know why he was there. Everything was unfamiliar - the horses around him, the smells and the sensations in his body. His person adores him and was open to everything that he wished to share about what would support his healing.

His instructions were simple. He showed her running her hands all over him flowing love through them and into him, humming gently. All that mattered was this moment of togetherness. When our beloved animals are unwell it can be so hard to soften into the moment and let go of the 'what if's'. As she said, she is watching him like a hawk, analysing every movement and sound to decide if more action needs to be taken.

He wanted her to know that loving touch relaxes him and healing speeds up. He feels safe - everything softens and energy flows around his body. He invited her to do this remotely too - picturing him surrounded in a generously 'cloud' of love.

Sound too simple to be effective? We are all energetically connected and in times of stress it's easy to become focused on the physical body and loose sight of what animates and powers that physical body. Honestly - I don't have a solid scientific explanation, all I can go on is how it feels to radiate love and to receive love from another. This beautiful horse knows that being held in love is healing.
