Our Jack Russell 'Bayley' is a 'life-sister'. Chrissy Brittenden captured this treasured moment playing on Muriwai Beach a few years back. Family doesn't have to limit itself to humans. In my most open-hearted moments I have a felt sense that everyone is brother and sister. From the fungus that feeds the soil, that feeds the plants, that feed us. We are all children of this dynamic, living planet.
A wee dog I have the privilege of communicating with for a lady in the UK shared 'I love her, she's my person, we are life-sisters' got me thinking who I would have on my list of 'life-sisters'. The list got pretty long, pretty diverse, pretty quick. My hubby will tell you I love all animals I meet, yet some have an extra special place in my heart. One's I feel so lucky to have known and have helped me explore my humanity.
Do you have any 'life-sisters/brothers' from other mothers? Love to see your picture and hear your stories. Sometimes the human world can feel disconnected and lonely and our animals help make it a much more loving place x
